Bill Thomas
“My first British sports car purchase was in 1988, and my passion for them continues to grow.”
Bill's Bio
Bill was a professional dealership technician holding ASE Master Technician and Nissan Master Technician certifications. Over the years he has earned additional automotive-related certifications. Having worked in the retail dealer environment for well over a decade, he was hired by Nissan North America’s Infiniti Division as an Area Technical Manager. From there he was promoted to several other rewarding and challenging positions within Infiniti Cars, USA. After many satisfying years with Nissan North America, Bill accepted a position with Ferrari North America as an Area Technical and Business Manager.
Having spent many years with Ferrari, he was simultaneously involved in the launch of the Maserati brand in North America. Once again, after many years with FNA, Bill decided it was time to work for himself and build his own brand. In 2004, he resigned from Ferrari and embarked on the formation of William Thomas Roadsters, LLC. With great passion, professionalism and technical skill, he built WTR into the reputable and effective business it is today. His love of classic British sports cars goes way back to his formative childhood years. His father had a black on red 1952 MG TD which had always captivated him. His first British sports car purchase came in 1988 when he found a nicely preserved one-owner 1971 Triumph TR6. From there his passion and ownership count of these cars began to grow. Many decades later the car count and passion has NOT subsided.

“As far back as I can remember, classic British sports cars have been a part of my life.”
Drew's Bio
As far back as I can remember, classic British sports cars have been a part of my life. I have many fond memories of spending time in my father’s workshop admiring all of the beautiful cars and being fascinated by the multitude of repairs / work being performed at any given time. This was an integral part of my childhood that naturally became my passion. At an early age, I translated all of these observations into action — from taking apart model cars and my battery -operated John Deer tractor and attempting to put them back together to working on my dirt bikes and go karts. As I grew older, my passion for all things related to engines evolved and grew stronger.
After a few easy conversations with my parents, I decided that a career in the automotive industry was absolutely for me. I enrolled in the automotive Vo-tech program in high school with the intention of learning as much as possible. During the course, I had the opportunity to participate in a couple of statewide as well as national Tech Challenges, one of which was held at Universal Technical Institute (UTI). With success – taking first place in these challenges, I was fortunate enough to earn a full scholarship at UTI. While in UTI, I still had the same goal in mind- to be the best I can be. A number of brand specific programs were offered on top of the standard courses, one of which being the Porsche Technician Apprenticeship Program (PTAP). Out of all the programs, PTAP was the most prestigious and most difficult in which to be accepted. The program required a minimum of a 3.8 GPA, perfect attendance while in UTI, preferably holding a job at a Porsche dealer, as well as going through an intense interview process in order to be accepted into the program. I was determined from day one at UTI to be accepted into PTAP. I succeeded in meeting all of the requirements and fortunately, I was ultimately one of the seven (7) accepted into the program. During this six-month period, the curriculum was focused on the diagnostics, service and repair of Porsche cars. Upon the completion of PTAP, I began my professional career in the automotive industry at an authorized area Porsche dealership. Through great work ethic instilled by my parents as well as the will to learn new things, I quickly rose through the ranks during my 3 years at PLV. Through all of this, there was one thing that always stuck in the back of my mind — William Thomas Roadsters. I always wondered if there was the possibility to one day take over my father’s successful business. Once I learned of his plans to retire, I knew that I had to take advantage of this possible opportunity. It would be a shame to simply close such a successful, respected business with so many valued customers. I spoke with my father and explained to him that this is what I wanted my next and final step in my automotive career to be. He loved the idea, especially being that this decision was not forced on his end. This is something I absolutely knew I wanted to pursue and represented everything I wanted in a career- incredible cars, loyal clients, and the opportunity to be a business owner. Once the decision was made, a plan was put into motion. Today I am very happy, fortunate and excited to say that I have officially shifted my career into working towards taking over William Thomas Roadsters. With the training of my father in business operations, as well as everything I need to know to successfully service and repair classic British sports cars, I am looking forward to continuing and expanding organically on William Thomas Roadsters & Son!
